Work with us
We build exceptional art collections, shaped by a collector’s vision and informed by curatorial insight, research, and experience.
Vancelette Global Art Acquisitions (VGAA) is led by Rachel D. Vancelette, an art advisor, curator, and producer described by the Italian press as a “Cultural Architect.” We work with new and established collectors to develop modern and contemporary art collections with a clear direction, from a first acquisition to the thoughtful refinement of existing holdings.
What is a creative agency?
A creative agency helps people and organizations turn an idea into something people can see, understand, and connect with. It brings together strategy, design, storytelling, and production—from defining a brand’s identity to creating its website, content, publications, or public experiences.
What that means at Vancelette
Our agency is rooted in art and culture. Rachel D. Vancelette leads the creative and curatorial direction, bringing together designers, writers, developers, and production specialists as each project requires. We help collectors build art collections, artists present and develop their work, and brands and institutions communicate their identity through meaningful creative projects.
In practical terms, you can come to us to build a collection, refresh your brand identity, develop a website, create editorial and video content, produce an exhibition, or develop an artist book with publishing partners. We shape the concept, organize the collaborators, and guide the work through to delivery.
For example, an artist may need a clearer portfolio, a redesigned website, and a publication that introduces their practice. A brand may need a refreshed visual identity, new messaging, and an artist collaboration. A collector may need a considered plan for acquiring and displaying art. Our role is to connect the vision with the people and work needed to realize it.

Gallery leadership & institutional relationships
Rachel’s institutional experience developed through senior roles at Yvon Lambert New York and Gladstone Gallery, working across artist relationships, exhibition programming, acquisitions, and the placement of contemporary art in private and museum collections.
- Yvon Lambert New York: as Senior Director, Rachel led the launch of the gallery’s 21st Street space, collaborating with Richard Jackson and architect Richard Gluckman. Her responsibilities encompassed gallery operations, curatorial planning, installation coordination, artist relationships, and collector engagement.
- Gladstone Gallery, New York: as Senior Director of the 21st Street location, Rachel helped launch the gallery’s purpose-built space with an inaugural Anish Kapoor exhibition in 2008, working with Selldorf Architects. Her work continued through exhibition planning, installations, and client relationships.
This gallery background informs her approach to institutional placement: understanding an artist’s practice, the significance of a work, and its relevance to a collection. Her portfolio documents museum acquisition work, including the placement of Carlos Amorales at MoMA.

Collection building & private art advisory
We help collectors define their interests, identify artists, and assess how each acquisition contributes to their collection. Our work spans emerging, mid-career, and established artists, with sourcing across galleries, auctions, art fairs, and private markets.
How we work
- Define your vision. We begin with your interests, existing holdings, budget, spaces, and long-term collecting goals.
- Research and source. We identify relevant artworks and consider the artist’s practice, exhibition history, market context, and place within your collection.
- Guide the acquisition. We discuss selection, pricing, and acquisition terms, coordinating relevant documentation and specialist input according to the engagement.
- Support the next chapter. We coordinate with specialist partners on shipping, installation, and collection needs, and help plan the collection’s continued development.
Each engagement is tailored to the collector. Scope, fees, and any relevant commercial relationships are discussed before work begins.
Cultural projects & creative collaborations
Alongside our collector practice, we develop exhibitions, artist projects, public presentations, and collaborations across art, fashion, design, and technology. We work with brands and cultural organizations from concept through production, considering the artists, audience, and purpose of each project.
TV, Press & Media Placements
We work with press and media across the creative industries to shape and communicate the stories behind artists, brands, collections, and cultural projects. Services include editorial positioning, press materials, targeted media outreach, interview preparation, and the coordination of television features, podcast appearances, and editorial placement opportunities. Coverage is subject to each outlet’s editorial decisions.
Brand identity, websites & content
We help artists, creative businesses, and cultural organizations define or refresh their brand identity. Our services include brand strategy, visual identity, website design and development, content planning, editorial and video storytelling, and the presentation of portfolios and digital platforms. We repackage existing brands with a coherent message, visual direction, and online experience, coordinating creative and technical specialists according to the project.
Artist books, catalogues & publishing
We develop artist books and exhibition catalogues with publishing partners, guiding concept, curatorial and editorial content, image selection, design direction, production coordination, and institutional outreach. Selected publications developed in collaboration with Rachel include Clusters of Energy by Nathan Brujis, JOURNEY by Micheline Klagsbrun, and ODYSSÉE | Saint Jean Cap Ferrat: A Curator’s Sketchbook with Billy Zane and Diane Detalle, published by Snap Collective.
Clusters of Energy by Nathan Brujis and JOURNEY by Micheline Klagsbrun are now available for research in MoMA’s archive, providing a resource for researchers, collectors, and scholars.
